Tasty Recipe

This is the recipe that I made for Jared's birthday. It is very yummy, but the directions were not very clear so I altered it, to be my instructions. So I would read them through a few times to make sure you understand before you attempt this recipe. Feel free to ask questions!

Fran Noble's Recipe

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8oz fettucine noodles

1 can of sliced mushrooms(optional)

Butter

1/2 C flour

1 can of chicken broth

1 1/2 C half and half

Lemon Juice

2-3 tsp Nutmeg

2 cloves of garlic OR a lot of garlic powder

Parmesan cheese

Cook chicken breasts by browning in greased frying pan. Add about a cup of water and cook on medium about 30 minutes. Check frequently and add water as needed.(Add boullion cube for added taste.)

Sautee mushrooms in 1/4 C butter with the garlic/garlic powder. Remember- you don't have to add mushrooms. But add the garlic powder to the rue instead.

In a separate pot, create rue on low heat by combining 1/4 C butter (melt) then 1/2 C flour and can chicken broth. Add half and half and a little lemon juice.

Chop up chicken when finished cooking into about 1inch cubes, or smaller. Add chicken and mushrooms to the rue and cook until thick and bubbly. (Doesn't take too long) Add 2 T lemon juice, pepper, salt, and nutmeg to rue/chicken concauction.

Cook noodles according to package-while cooking chicken and rue. Put the noodles in 9X13 casserole dish. Pour sause on top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese(a lot tastes good). Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees in oven.
*Note* I did grease the pan with butter paper prior but the recipe doesn't say to. It worked out fine for me.

Good luck!!

We're Moving!!

Recently, Jared has been offered a job in the California area. Due to limited job opportunites at this time for engineers, we have decided to take it. Jared was chosen over many other employees to be given this opportunity, and we feel like this is such blessing for our family. Heavenly Father couldn't have made it any more obvious where our lives should go. We are going to be in California next weekend to find a place where we want to live. It will be in the Orange County, Fountain Hills area. Basically we will be close to Hungtington beach and Disneyland. We will keep everyone updated on how our progress with this exciting quest goes.

Saturday Hike

On Saturday Jared and I went with some friends to go hike in Sabino Canyon. The hike we chose was called "7 Falls" which I figured out was because at the end of the trail there are seven waterfalls(Depending on how you count them there could be more or less though). The hike was four miles each way, which to everyone else was cake, but for me....it was a challenge. But we all made it! I had a hard time with the heat hiking there and back(about 74-76 degrees) but when we got to the waterfalls it was a really nice temperature and the pools of water/falls were gorgous! It was well worth it, even though we were all really exhaused. It was a lot of fun, and a good way to spend our Saturday.

Jared's Birthday!

For Jared's birthday I made a complex but yummy dinner (that I had never made before = disaster) that surprisingly turned out well. He liked it and then we had dessert which were rice crispies with chocolate chips melted to say happy birthday on it. Those were a hit except that other chocolate chips might have tasted better. Then Jared opened his presents, though he didn't get a gaming system, he did get a tenis racket, dutch oven with a cookbook, hair gel, the movie Mary Poppins, and lots of kisses :)

He said that he had a good birthday, and is excited to take on a year of being 28. I am glad that we got to celebrate together, and that the night was successful. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED!!!

Silly Jared!

For Christmas I gave Jared a nerf gun, as well as myself(for self defense). So these past few nights have been spent hiding under beds and ducking behind furniture with bullets flying everywhere. Jared is by far the better shooter, I have gotten hit in the head countless times now, but I have to say that my aim has gotten better. Friday night, Jared thought it would be fun to turn off the lights and shoot at eachother. I found out that I was actually better in the dark! Anyways, its been a lot of fun! Its been hilarious to see Jared acting like a seven year old ducking, spinning, and jumping all over the place. Apparenly we do have a child in the house!
Jared's pride and joy....he named it "the shark." if you look closely, you can see that he drew that on there, so we can tell who's is the "better gun"

Jared's Upcoming Birthday

So the day is coming closer and closer........JARED'S BIRTHDAY!! On Sunday he will be 28 years old! Its hard to belive but it's true! Last year when we were just barely dating, I sent him a text on his birthday, "Happy Birthday you old man!" I wonder what I will have to send him this year since he is one year older!

I have already gotten him a few presents and have decided on the dinner, but dessert is going to be a bit tough considering he does not like cake (if you have any suggestions, feel free to give them to me as well as a recipe). Anyways, I will be sure to take lots of pictures so you can all feel like you are there to wish him a happy birthday as well!

Winter Vacation

Two days after Christmas, Jared and I headed off to Dayton, Nevada to visit Barry and Jeanni's family and TJ and Sunshine. We had a great time staying there playing games, cooking good food, staying up late, and skiing/skateboarding. We got to go snowboarding and skiing at Diamond Peak, which is close to Lake Tahoe(a beautiful lake). Jared was very patient in teaching me to ski, considering that I had no experince in snow. So we really had to go to the basics. I got to go in a ski class, which was good- especially considering that Jared was very pleased with the progress I'd made ( I had gone from terrible to semi-bad). The video shows me before my ski class. Jared was happy to get back in the snow again, and enjoyed snowboarding down mountains with his family.

Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve with my parents in Phoenix, where we sang Christmas carols, looked at Christmas lights, and even put in a good word with Santa(Jared's idea). We also got to participate in the anual Christmas program-where we acted out the night of Jesus' birth. Jared and I were Joseph and Mary, so that was a lot of fun-and no I am not pregnant, it's a basketball.

The day following Christmas we spent playing the wii with my family. I was excited that I beat Jared in the boxing game, though Jared wasn't too thrilled so we did a rematch and he won! We would make a good team!

These Christmas lights were really neat, there were three houses and each house was decorated differently with different characters in the front. One had disney characters and it was really cute. One was the north pole with santa himself outside handing out candy canes.
