Rosalie

The other day when I was at Walmart, I happened to wander into the pet area and saw that they had some fish. I turned around and I saw these betta fish and I saw Rosalie and had to have her! Now keep in mind that maybe being by my lonesome all day long has something to do with it, but I had to have this pretty red fish. After naming her, I looked at the label which said, "male betta"- but I decided that she is going to be a girl. The name suits her, it started out as Rose because of her color, but if you have read the Twilight series you have figured out where I got the name. Rosalie sounded prettier than Rose. So anyways, I love talking to this fish, she's not too exciting but she's mine and I am very excited about her. Call me crazy, but I am very happy about having a new friend.

GOTHCA!!

Since we have been married, Jared has denied the fact that he snores. No he does not snore loudly, and he does not wake me up, but he does make cute little snores when he is sleeping. Well, I caught him in the act Sunday afternoon! And yes hunny, you do snore, but I love it :) I can't give him a hard time about it because he does no harm- and I take the covers and the middle of the bed all of the time. He's a great trooper, I love you Jared!

Beach Cruisers

The other weekend, Jared thought it would be a fun idea to buy us some beach cruisers. So we went with our friends, Abe and Holly Oyler to go pick some out. I picked out a pink one and added a little basket on the front. Jared picked out a very manly looking bike that was black with a brown leather seat and handlebars. Later that day we all went out for a bike ride to eat at a Mexican resturant, we had a blast (though I almost died going uphill twice).

This last Saturday Jared and I decided to go bike riding again, this time around Mile Square Park. It turned out to be a blast! We found a duck pond with all sorts of birds(including lots of seagulls) and I am now looking forward to saving bread heels to feed to the ducks. This was something that I enjoyed doing as a child, so I am excited to share this with Jared. Though I am a little intimidated-one kid got followed by every bird in the pond because he was feeding them bread-so this might be interesting.....Anyways, we also found all of the golf courses, fishing ponds, baseball fields, soccer fields and basketball courts the park had to offer. It was a nice way to spend our Saturday afternoon. We are happy that we bought something that will bring us closer together doing a fun and healthy activity.

Frustration

So I have been really annoyed this whole day so it just occurred to me that I might as well get it all out and just blog it. I have been in a really bad mood today due to several things. For one, yesterday I lost my car registration paper which is still needed to register here in California. Luckily we were able to print off another one through the Arizona DMV, but it still makes me very angry that I couldn't find where I put the original. Secondly, I feel lazy. I have been looking online for nanny/childcare jobs and there are none! (Which I am sure the rest of the unemployed population shares my annoyance). However, this is making me annoyed considering that Jared is off working his buns off, and all I seem to do all day is clean, eat, get the mail (at 3:30)and google jobs. To add to that lazy feeling, I have concluded that I want to go back to school for my associates in early childhood education. The only problem with that is that its the middle of the Spring semester so I have to wait until it is Fall until I can start again! And yes, I have tried to get the ball running with applying and such, but I can't seem to get through the college's phone lines to ask them the million questions I have in store for them(maybe that's why they aren't answering). So now that I am done complaining, if you have any suggestions to helping me feel better, or know of anyone who needs a nanny out here in Orange County, California, feel free to let me know.

We are moved in!

The movers packed up all of our stuff on Monday, they started around nine and they didn't finish everything until five. And straight after that we went to a FHE bbq that our ward put on for us leaving. We appreciated what our ward did for us. But, needless to say it was a long day, I was up at five thirty that morning to continue packing and Jared was up shortly after. But everything went well and we got all the cleaning done fast, so we were grateful that everything went smoothly. Monday we drove up to Phoenix to see my family before heading out. We were sad that we couldn't hang out longer since we had gotten up there so late. But we got to spend some extra time with my dad Tuesday morning before we took off. We both were crying as we were leaving Arizona. It was tough for us to leave the only close family we had nearby, to go somewhere where we don't have close family.
The movers brought us our stuff Wednesday morning and were done before noon. We spent the whole day unpacking and with both of us working hard, we had mostly everything unpacked by that night. We were exhaused! Poor Jared was helping the movers carry boxes in and up our steep flight of stairs, so his muscles were all sore. But we are all settled in now, and have only two boxes left to unpack! I am so thankful to our Hevenly Father for allowing the moving process to go smoothly.

Skateboarding

While we were in California looking for an apartment, we found an outdoor mall where there was a indoor skate park. It was really cool to see the skaters on their boards and we watched them for a long while. Jared and I videotaped the skaters so we would like to share them!

Way to go Jared!

Jared has been such a wonderful husband these past weeks getting all the details taken care of for the move. Last night he finished doing our taxes-which was a very complicated task for all the mistakes I had made on my taxes during the prior year. We found out today that it was approved by the government so I would just like to say how proud I am of him, there is no way I would be able to do all the things he does by myself. JARED YOU ARE AMAZING!! I love you!

And we're off!

Well the day has been decided....Monday it is. No, not in two weeks, February the 9. Yes its extremely quick and we have a lot to get done in that time frame, but Jared's company is moving us so the really hard part is over. We just have to pack up valuables, clean our current apartment, and pray that everything works out the way it needs to.

Being away from family is going to be the hardest part for me. Though I am trying not to think of it right now, I know it will hit me the minute we drive away from my parents house on Saturday. But my sister, Kara, along with a friend, are going to be visiting us in California the spring break week in March. So at least I have something to look forward to. I am estatic to have her come visit us! They want to go to Disneyland (30 mins away) and the beach (5 miles away) along with shopping (everywhere) so this should be a blast!

We are also going to dearly miss our friends we have made here in Tucson, and also in Phoenix. I would like everyone to know that we love to have visitors, so everyone is more than welcome to stay,or visit with us in Orange County, California.
P.S. the picture is of a plant called "birds of paridise" which are extremely popular in California. This one was from our the new apartment in Fountain Valley

We have found a place!

After searching for a day, we looked at three apartments that are close enough to Jared's work, and decided on a place to live in California. The Grande Apartments were the first place we looked at. They aren't the fanciest apartments by far, but they are cheep, and that was a big priority considering the economic times, and the fact that even though these are the "cheaper" apartments, we will still be paying over double in rent that we do now. But we are happy with what we chose. The neighborhood seems safe and perhaps the best part is that our good friends live in the same building we do! We are very excited to be so close to them! Grande has a pool, and across the street is a park that is a square, each side being a mile wide. The park is where we are looking forward to spending a lot of our time because it has numerous 18 hole golf courses, baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, and walking/running pathways around the perimeter. We also have the beach which is 5 miles away, so that will also be fun for weekends and long days at work.
